Mission Venom Darts: Specs & Owner Reviews

The Mission Venom is a thick 90% tungsten barrel with radial grooves and a 6/10 grip rating, in 23g and 25g. Here are the specs and what owners say so far.

At a Glance

A wide 90% tungsten barrel (7.4mm at 23g, 7.65mm at 25g) with a smooth bull nose front and a mid-level 6/10 grip. Every buyer review so far is five-star and the grip gets singled out, but there are only a handful of reviews and the price sits in the High End band.

The Venom is a 90% tungsten steel tip set that Mission launched in January 2025. It is a thick barrel with a black PVD coating and green electro plate, and it comes with matching Mission Sabre shafts and Venom flights in the box.

The barrel runs straight through the rear section, then contours into a smooth bull nose at the front that tapers down to a black point. The rear tapers to a smooth band with a laser-etched Mission logo.

Key Specifications

The 25g version is the one buyer reviews cover. It is a 7.65mm wide barrel with the same 50.4mm length as the 23g.

How They Compare

Spec sheets mean more next to the alternatives. Here is the Venom against three similar darts we have covered, using the figures each manufacturer publishes.

The Venom has the longest barrel of the four, and only the Recon is wider at 23g. The grip ratings use each maker’s own scale, so a 6 of 10 from Mission does not line up directly with Red Dragon’s scores out of 5.

Who They Suit

If you... Fit Why
Like a light, slim dart Poor Lightest is 23g with a 7.4mm barrel
Want a thick, heavy barrel Good Up to 7.65mm wide at 25g
Want grip cuts along the whole barrel Partial The bull nose front and the rear logo band are smooth
Want a very smooth grip Partial Rated 6 of 10 by Mission, a mid-range grip
Prefer a short barrel Poor Barrel length is 50.4mm
Want quick-swap points Poor Standard steel points, not a tool-swap system
Are working to a tight budget Poor It sits in the High End price band

If you want something slimmer at a similar price, the Red Dragon Paradym Gold starts at 22g with a 6.2mm barrel. If quick-swap points matter, the Recon Switch Points Torpedo is a similarly wide barrel with tool-free Switch Points. What Owners Say

There is very little feedback to go on yet. The Venom’s main UK retail listing shows 5.0 out of 5 from nine buyer reviews. The ones on show are all for the 25g, and none run to more than a line or two. We could not find an independent write-up that covers the steel tip set in any depth.

What there is reads well. One buyer picked out the grip, others simply rated the set highly, and the only reservation raised so far was that they felt a bit pricey.

What owners consistently praise

  • Grip singled out as a strength
  • Rated highly overall by every buyer who has reviewed them so far
  • Complete set in the box, with matching Sabre shafts and Venom flights

Common criticisms

  • Felt a bit pricey to at least one owner
  • Only two weights on offer (23g and 25g)
  • Too few reviews yet to show any recurring problems, and no independent testing

The Grip: What to Expect

Mission rates the Venom at 6 of 10, putting it in the middle of its own scale. The grip comes from radial grooves combined with horizontal milling through the main body of the barrel, while the bull nose at the front and the band behind the logo stay smooth.

The one owner who commented on the grip specifically rated it, but that is a single opinion. With no independent testing yet, nobody has said whether 6 of 10 feels sharper or milder than the number suggests, so try to handle a set first if grip is the deciding factor.

Mission Venom sizes and weights chart showing 23g and 25g barrels at 50.4mm long, 7.4mm and 7.65mm wide, with Std No2 flights and 36mm short Sabre stems

The Consensus

Owners who have reviewed the Venom are happy with it, and the grip draws the only specific praise. The trade-offs are clear from the specs: it is a thick, 50.4mm barrel in only two weights, and it costs High End money. With so few reviews, the reception is encouraging rather than proven.

How we compile this page

We don’t throw every dart ourselves. Instead we gather the manufacturer’s published specifications and weigh up the reception from owners and independent reviewers, then flag where they disagree so you can make up your own mind. Where a headline rating comes from manufacturer-hosted reviews, we say so, because those tend to skew positive.
