Target Scott Williams Gen 2: Specs & Owner Reviews

The Target Scott Williams Gen 2 packs 23g or 25g of 90% tungsten into a short 43.5mm torpedo with Swiss Points. Full specs and what owners say about it.

At a Glance

A short, wide 90% tungsten torpedo with Swiss Points, sold in 23g and 25g. Owners rate the build and the grip highly, but the pool of reviews is small and opinion splits on whether it justifies a High End price.

The Gen 2 is Scott “Shaggy” Williams’ second signature dart with Target. Williams made his name at the 2024 World Championship, where he knocked out Michael van Gerwen 5-3 in the quarter-finals before Luke Humphries beat him 6-0 in the semis.

Target built the barrel to his match specification: a compact 90% tungsten torpedo, only 43.5mm long but up to 8.4mm wide, with Target’s Swiss Point system so the points come out with the tool in the box.

Key Specifications

The 25g is the version pictured here. It has a polished silver finish, yellow and black rings ahead of the grip, and a smooth tapered nose.

How They Compare

Spec sheets mean more next to the alternatives. Here is the Scott Williams Gen 2 against three similar darts we have covered, using the figures each manufacturer publishes.

Who They Suit

If you... Fit Why
Like a light, slim dart Poor Lightest is 23g with an 8mm barrel
Want a thick, heavy barrel Good 25g at 8.4mm wide
Want grip cuts along the whole barrel Partial Target does not describe the grip as full length, and the nose is smooth
Prefer a short barrel Good Barrel length is 43.5mm
Want quick-swap points Good Swiss Point system, tool included
Are working to a tight budget Poor It sits in the High End price band

If you throw a slimmer dart, this is a big change in feel, and a straight barrel such as the Target Rob Cross Gen 2 keeps the Swiss Points in a 6.4mm to 6.8mm barrel. Our guide to dart barrel shapes covers how a torpedo differs from a straight barrel.

What Owners Say

Reception is positive, from a small sample. The set holds 4.6 out of 5 from 119 ratings at a major retailer, with 81% of them five-star and 4% one-star. Product reviews collected by Target for the 23g also average 4.6, but from only five reviews, and manufacturer-collected reviews tend to lean favourable. We found no independent write-up of the Gen 2.

Owners mostly talk about build quality and the grip. One buyer says they fly well and feel front-loaded, though Target publishes no weighting figure. The split comes on value: some owners think the price is fair, others find it steep for 90% tungsten.

What owners consistently praise

  • Good build quality and finish
  • A grip that several owners single out
  • Fly well, according to buyers who have thrown them

Common criticisms

  • Priced at the top end for a 90% tungsten set
  • One owner had the supplied stems and flights working loose
  • Only two weights, and a small pool of reviews so far

The Grip: What to Expect

Target pairs radial grooves through the middle of the barrel with precision-milled rings towards the rear, and describes the result as subtle but effective. The front of the barrel is a smooth tapered nose, so if you hold the dart right at the point there is little to grip.

The owner feedback lines up with Target on this. Grip is one of the things buyers praise, and nobody we found called it harsh or slippery. Short, wide barrels feel quite different in the hand from slim ones, so if you are coming from a 6.5mm dart, try to handle a set first.

The Consensus

Owners who have bought the Scott Williams Gen 2 are happy with how it is made and how it grips. The questions are the price, which some think is high for 90% tungsten, and how little feedback exists so far. If you want a short, chunky torpedo with Swiss Points, the reception gives no reason to steer clear. If you prefer a slim barrel, this is the wrong shape.

How we compile this page

We don’t throw every dart ourselves. Instead we gather the manufacturer’s published specifications and weigh up the reception from owners and independent reviewers, then flag where they disagree so you can make up your own mind. Where a headline rating comes from manufacturer-hosted reviews, we say so, because those tend to skew positive.
